Introducing the Lifelong Learning Program

By Corinne Brouch, Director Learning and Certifications

The Open Group is glad to announce the launch of our Lifelong Learning program, which will enable professionals and individuals to upskill and reskill on topics supported by official publications.

The Lifelong Learning program will include an increasing number of Learning Modules built upon some of our publications. Each Learning Module represents less than 3 hours of learning, aimed at helping professionals to deepen their knowledge, or individuals to discover a new topic that may encourage them to proceed towards certification, and even a career change. Learning Modules are not part of our existing learning paths and certifications, but each one includes a set of skills listed on the Open Badge that can be obtained upon its completion.

The Open Group is eager to make content, passionately built by our Members, available to a greater public. This not only promotes the Members’ contributions but also benefits professionals who wish to demonstrate their commitment to Lifelong Learning. Each Learning Module includes acknowledgments to the Members who contributed to creating the content used, information about Forums, Work Groups, or Consortia involved, and directs the learner to the relevant certifications and accredited training courses.

The first Learning Module “Exploring Sustainability: Information Systems” is now available at: https://www.credly.com/org/the-open-group/badge/lifelong-learning-exploring-sustainability-informat. It can be purchased from The Open Group shop: https://shop.opengroup.org/study-materials/lifelong-learning/b250.
